ZURICH MANIA
Posted by Rooney on March 31st, 2008
Hey guys-
As you know Europe has been awesome so far. We love it here. The day off in Amsterdam was supposedly very fun- I missed out however. I wasn’t feeling well and needed to rest. But I still loved being there. The people are so nice and it’s such a great city. The show last night was a blast too.
So, we’re in Zurich right now. Z-town. It’s great here and we’re excited for another headlining show. Hopefully our sound mixer won’t get a diarrhea attack in the middle of the show again and have to leave the sound console for an entire song like last time. He’s feeling well, so our hopes are high.
On a serious note, things are going well out here and it’s been great meeting our fans and friends in Europe. Keep coming out to the shows….they’ve been awesome and will only get better. Check out the pics…..i’m uploading a few from the dressing room last night.

Hey there,
I’m sitting on the bus outside the Melkweg in Amsterdam. We just finished the show and loaded out. We did a meet and greet, our first one in Amsterdam, actually, our first real meet and greet in all of Europe. There was a long line of fans, it felt like we were back at home. I was given two amazing gifts, one of them is a book called “The Bumper Book of Bunny Suicides,” and the other gift is a music box with a crankshaft that plays one of my favorite songs, “Singing in the Rain.” The show was intense. We played a very long set and I got a little tired in the middle of the set. We closed the set with California Girls by the Beach Boys. It was cool watching everyone sing along and dance. It was a Sunday, so we had to work extra hard to get everyone to go nuts in the crowd. It’s a rainy day here. Ned and I shared a hotel room last night and we couldn’t sleep at all. We were up till about 5:30am, still adjusting to the time change. I’m eating some banana and peanut butter as I type this. I’m very excited to get back Holland this summer. We hope we can play the Ping Pop festival here, but if not, we’ll do our own show. We’re about to drive to Zurich Switzerland right now, which is around a 12 hour drive. Wish us luck. Later…

Howdy,
I’m laying in bed in my hotel room in NYC. I got in late last night after the JB show in jersey. It was the last show of the tour, a very fun and sad night, it’s hard to say goodbye to new friends. On big tours, you become close with all the people working behind the scenes. It’s like a traveling circus family, you see the same characters every day. It’s strange how many people come and go with each tour. It’s weird to be so close with people and then you never see them again. All and all, the tour was a great experience for us and I’m glad we were able to be a part of it. At the end of a tour, all the bands prank each other. It’s standard to be pranked, it’s the way it goes and you better have a good attitude about it. We pranked the Jonas Brothers in Atlantic city by wearing bunny outfits on stage and dancing around. They weren’t expecting that. The next night, Joe wore a gorilla suit on stage to get us back. It was good fun, a tasteful prank. It’s always good to be original with you pranks. Now we have 3 days off in the city and then we fly to Germany to begin the next tour. It’s wild to go from one tour to the next with out a real break. I like it, I feel like I’m pushing myself for what I love. The other boys are in the city as well. We’re all scattered right now, staying at different places. I have a lot of friends in the city from when I went to college here, so it’s always fun to be in town. I’m gonna try and get some shut eye, I need the rest. Happy Easter to all and hope you have a great day!

happy easter from rooney! we don’t normally celebrate but as we were approaching the end of the tour, we felt it a good idea to prank the jo bros via an onstage costume celebration/drum solo. although we felt the prank was a bit of a failure (we accidentlly showed up late as usual and only caught 20 seconds of song), apparently it rocked some boats pretty hard. we were almost kicked off the tour but in a moment of diplomacy, all was set straight. HAPPY EASTER!
