Out of curiosity, who's going to the Emo's show? I have about a 60% chance of going right now, just depends if I can get a ride. I really really want to go, and it'd be cool to actually meet some Rooney/Locksley fans! :)
It says on Emo's site that they're playing in the lounge; where is that, exactly?
Yeah, i'm asking for a tune that I remember someone saying they had a while back.
Apparently, Rooney did a cover of the Cat Steven's song 'If you Want to Sing Out (Sing Out).' I would be willing to exchange someone a song or two if they had it. I'm a huge Cat Stevens fan and obviously, a huge Rooney fan.
Thank you very much!

Okay, this has been bothering me for some time and I know we got some old school EBE fans on here. Does anyone remember the name of the original bassist? I remember hearing how he quit the band or got kicked out and went all goth. I don't have my demo cases on me or else I would just look. I believe Austin is their third bassist, maybe even their fourth. If I am right, anyone know the name of the 2nd bassist as well? And the 3rd if it is applicable.
I'm thinking a few months in advance for this topic.
With a new single comes a new music video from our boys! What type of "vibe" do you want to see? Anything specific you've always wanted to see in a music video from Rooney? Anything you want them to avoid putting into their next video?
The next few months are going to be pretty exciting because hopefully by Christmas we'll have a first single with the album close behind it. I'm pumped to see all the new and innovative things the guys have been cooking up.

It's that time of year again. What are you dressing up as? What are your plans?
I have two costumes because I'm going to two different parties on two separate days. Pugsley from the Adams Family & a cat(just because you hardly ever see guys go as cats). A bunch of us are also heading over to Universal Studios Hollywood for their yearly Halloween Horror Nights. We went to the Knotts Scary Farm Haunt a few weekends ago & had so much fun.
I went to the Virginia State Fair show yesterday, and of course it was amazing. I didn't notice this because I was busy scrambling for a guitar pick from Robert that I didn't get because a crazy middle-aged woman pounced on it, but my mom noticed this and told me about it. She said that as they were leaving, Ned stopped and scanned the crowd for someone to give his drum sticks to. He noticed a young boy who clearly had down syndrome, and he hopped down into the crowd and quietly gave him the drumsticks. The boy looked ECSTATIC.
LONDON - Some of Britain's biggest music stars announced Saturday they are banding together to demand greater control over their music in the digital age. ADVERTISEMENT
Radiohead, Robbie Williams and Kaiser Chiefs are among more than 60 founding members of the Featured Artists' Coalition.
The group says it wants musicians rather than record labels to retain control over the rights to their music. It says new technology is rapidly changing the music industry, and artists are often left out when their songs are distributed over the Internet or mobile phone networks.
"It is time for artists to have a strong collective voice to stand up for their interests," said Brian Message, co-manager of Radiohead and the singer Kate Nash. "The digital landscape is changing fast and new deals are being struck all the time, but all too often without reference to the people who actually make the music."
Musicians are increasingly turning to the Internet — and sometimes bypassing traditional record labels — to distribute their music. Radiohead released the "In Rainbows" album through the band's Web site, and Oasis is offering its new album, "Dig Out Your Soul," on social networking site MySpace before its official release.
Jazz Summers, manager of The Verve, said the coalition would "seek to improve the treatment of artists within the business and campaign to update laws and practices that better reflect the new music landscape."
"Digital technology gives artists the opportunity to control their future — this is the time to seize that opportunity," he said.
Billy Bragg, Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour are among signatories to the coalition's founding charter. The group plans an official launch Sunday at the In the City music event in Manchester.
far better than last weeks. the vp's were willing to get personal on the issues associated with their running mates and added a little of their own personality to their responses.
did anyone else feel like they were listening to a parrot when palin responded to the lead questions/counter points? she kept using the same responses and stock catch phrases instead of re-phrasing.
ok so i know some people on here recently got into locksley so i'm just reminding everyone to go check them out on tour. they start in boston this sunday. dates are on www.myspace.com/locksley
i'll be at the last show in vienna on november 3rd. the tickets are cheap and they are a great live band so let's help them out! okay you can continue your rooney discussion. :)
I entered a contest recently thinking "i'll never win.." Guess what?! I got the call today telling me that I get a 1 year membership to an art museum, and a pass to come and hear guest speaker, Nigel Barker from America's Next Top Model, speak at the museums anniversary this Thursday. Oh, yeah, and i'd get to meet him. *jaw drop*
And guess who can't go because of work? That's right.. the same gal that won.
I'm so bummed. Cheer me up!?

This is quite an interesting article. Really gets into the grit of Rooney's past and also reflects on how greatful the guys were to share a stage with Chuck Berry.

Hey guys! I actually almost forgot to post this here, but I finally posted the piece I wrote about SoloBob on my myspace:
www.myspace.com/zoinksmusicmagazine It's under the blog section.
I say this in italics at the top of the blog, but I'll say it here too. It's really not an article, but more of a think piece on the idea of SoloBob. You guys should read it, because it definitely gives you insight on SoloBob from Robert's perspective, but it's also written for you to think about where SoloBob can go and who he is. xo

My friends mom sent this and i thought it was a funny idea:
With a minimum donation of $5 this is worth every penny not only because it supports every woman's right choose, and supports choice for underprivileged couples, but the mental image of the Republican nominee for VP being swamped with cards saying 'A Generous Gift has been made in your honor' is too irresistible to pass up. So, instead of us all sending around emails about how horrible she is (like I've been doing!!), let's each make a donation to Planned Parenthood in Sarah Palin's name. When you make a donation to Planned Parenthood in her honor, they'll send her a card telling her so.
Here's the link to the Planned Parenthood website:
https://secure.ga0.org/02/pp10000_inhonor
You'll need to fill in an address to let Planned Parenthood know where to send the 'in Sarah Palin's honor' card.
I suggest you use the address for the McCain campaign headquarters, which is:
McCain for President 1235 S. Clark Street 1st Floor Arlington , VA 22202
NOTE: make sure you use the link above or go directly to the Planned Parenthood donation website http:// www.plannedparenthood.org/donate/donate-89.htm and choose the pulldown of: Donate--Honorary or Memorial Donations, not the regular 'Donate Online' or she won't get the notification.
Anybody else read this book. I'm almost finished and I have to say wow! Its really good. My views of George Harrison and Eric Clapton are definately a lot wider than before. Not negatively or positively just wider. Also I wish I could be someone's muse for a song.
in case you didn't know: she inspired or may have inspired these songs: Layla Something Wonderful tonight bell bottom blues
Do you guys still do that anymore? You know, the thing where you post a photo of Rooney and make captions with it. I remember seeing threads and threads of those. They were really entertaining.
1) i went to see mogwai tonight. blew me away. two hour show and then an encore. if you have the opportunity to go see them, do it. you won't be disappointed.
2) has anyone else seen control, the ian curtis based movie? i saw it last night and the way the movie was edited/scripted, i walked away wanting to punch him in the face (even though he did kill himself). also, i find it incredibly sad that he was on the brink of being completely commercially successful at the age of 23 and then deciding to end his life.
Hey, I was cleaning my room the other day and found something from an old Rooney show. It's a poster of their "Rooney" cd, like the size of an old wax record case. I got it signed by all they boys after a show in like 2003 or 2004. I don't need it anymore and I was thinking about selling it on E bay. Just wanted to post here and see if people are interested, if it's worth putting up there. Thanks!
Just dropping in to say that I hope everyone in these areas fared well after hurricane Ike. Like most all of the Houston area we got pounded, but came out fine thank God- no structural damage, only damage found outside all around us and throughout the neighborhood (downed trees etc...) but of course it does not compare to those who live farther in (east) and on the coast. The devastation is so sad. Please feel free to drop in and let us know you and your family are okay.
