If you've been to a show...

Has there been any pushing going on? Or do you have your own personal space?

I was just curious because my show is Thursday and I know every show is different as far as the crowds go.

Thanks!

Re: Umm... yeah

{q a=[[IHeartRooney]]}From what i'm told... my most recent show was a rarity. It was awful. Not just pushing but "charging." There was no such thing as personal space.

A line of people all held hands and pushed their way up to the front pretending to be meeting friends (like we haven't seen someone who's tried to do that). They were the rudest group of people i'd ever seen. To pretent them from weaseling their way up any further (they were stopped at one point on their "ride" to the front by someone who told them no) I actually had to stand with my hands on my hips. It was that tight.

A duo of two high school aged boys "hop pushed" their way to the front while making animal noises. They then proceeded to lift a younger girl on their shoulders and for a moment I felt like I was watching a taping session of Girls Gone Wild judging by her dancing.

Luckily, from what I hear, the Detroit show experience was rare. Thank God.
{/q}

oh my gosh, i remember that. they were so lame. this one girl in front of me had someone ask her if she could come through and the girl was like "no. you think you can get your spot back after you leave? thats bullshit." it was great. but then she asked us if i would switch spots with her because her friend was on the other side of me and then i ended up getting great seats. but then got trampled buy some huge girl who left for like forty minutes. it was rediculous.

I know it's a kinda late to answer your question now, but when I went to the show in Seattle, there was somebody on my ass throughout the entire show. There were a LOT of people there. My friend and sister were there too, and I'm pretty sure somebody was on them the entire time, too. It's ok though...It's to be expected. But my legs really hurt now!

hahaha im pretty much convinced that was my show...and i dont even know how i got lucky bc i pretty much have the worst luck ever.its been such a rough year and this show pretty much made my life...for now at least. (judge me, i know i sound lame-o).
and no, i will not be marrying any of the boys from locksley...but if theyd asked i wouldnt have said no...then you would be super ultra suicidal jealous, wouldnt you? : P {/q}

no, no! I don't even want to think about it! *covers ears*

haha, really, though, as a fellow boardie and fan, I'm really happy for you! really jealous, but happy. :D plus, in reality, this is only my second Rooney show. so my time is coming, I just know it. I should stick with you next time, you'll be my good luck charm lol! and I can't judge you, because this made my life too...I ran around telling everyone when I got home, "that was the best night ever!!!!" haha.{/q}

oh, good, I thought it was just me. every time I think about it, I get excited all over again like it's still happening. I feel the same as all of you, lol! Whenever I bring it up my friend who was with me is always like "Yeah, it was fun, get over it." I just want to slap her haha...
But the week after the concert I was still so excited I could barely eat. Weird, I know. But now I'm in this mini depression where I cant stop eating.. =/ haha.

My cousin and I decided to stay up in the bar area and drink and watch from the balcony. Great view and tons of personal space. It didn't look too packed down below either though.

totally off topic, but I should have realized that was you. when we got inside Emo's I remembered what you had said about sitting down, so I thought, "haha, I should see if anyone's sitting..." but then I forgot about it by the time I got to the stage. and now I remember seeing a girl (you) sitting and thinking, "I wonder what she's doing." lol, how sad. anyhow, to be on topic, the set list at the Austin show was amazing. I even got a pic of the set list, but the stage crew guys got mad and were like, "It's supposed to be a surprise!" lol.

They played Daisy Duke, which was yay! one of my favorite parts of the night. and Stay Away, I love that song. and The Weight! that was so cool to hear on stage. Ned and Taylor got the lead vocals and they sounded very awesome :) I kinda wished they had played Helter Skelter, because I thought that would be pretty interesting to see, but they didn't.{/q}

{q a=[[randomhero2006]]}{q a=[[Poppers986]]}{q a=[[randomhero2006]]}{q a=[[Poppers986]]}{q a=[[randomhero2006]]}Vegas shows tend to be a bit laid back. So hopefully I won't encounter any pushing or shoving. And it seems like hopefully there won't be much of that going on.

I'm hoping to get a front row spot so I don't notice (if any) obnoxious behaviour.

Thanks again!

Whoops another question:

What have the setlists been like? I think so far that I've read they've been a good mix of old and new stuff which I hope they do at my show. I'm hoping they play "Daisy Duke" which I have seen on some posted setlists but it has been missing from others.{/q}

I did.

Hmm or "I'm A Terrible Person".

I don't think I've seen that on any setlists recently.

That song always reminds me of junior year beacuse I remember using that song for a Powerpoint project on terrorism.

ha ha

EDIT:I just saw it on the Baltimore setlist.{/q}

haha thats funny, a powerpoint project on terrorism

hi..

I was at the one in Ft. Lauderdale, and it didn't seem so pushy. I wasn't in the pit area though but I had a good view of it. It looked like there were some obnoxious people but everyone else seemed pretty..normal? lol. The stage was pretty high so no one really in that area was face to face or anything with Robert...

As for the setlist, it was pretty varied. I was kind of disappointed they didn't play Sorry, Sorry haha, but I see they've been playing The Weight cover a lot. =] If you haven't been to the concert yet, have fun!

Ft. Lauderdale show

I had my own personal space to dance like a maniac, but I made sure to not be up front. =)

As for the people in front of the stage, they seemed somewhat tight and not many were dancing so they had some type of personal space.

I wasn't shoved or pushed once and the whole crowd seemed comfortable. From the other replies it seems you'll be fine if you get there with enough time to find a good spot. Have fun!

the farther you are to the back the more space you have vice versa the closer you are to the front the more pushing ,but for the most part the show will be pretty mellow

philly show

generally, it wasn't that bad. my friend and i had these two really nice girls in front of us who were obviously older than us and more mature than the general crowd; the one girl even offered to take some pictures of the guys for me because my view was blocked by some other people. but there were some really annoying jonas fans who probably have not been to a standing room only show before and they were complaining about not being able to see. i was thinking, 'well, sorry, but i'm not moving for you!' some of them shoved pretty violently, but for the most part, they were twirpy, so they didn't get very far.

Re: :-)

{q a=[[CecilieCph]]}Well there wasn't any pushing at the show I was at, only some annoying girls who constantly turned their back to the scene to get pics with the scene (= the guys) in the background. But then again the show I were at was in Copenhagen and quite small! But AMAZING!!!!

I second that ;)

None of the shows I've been to have been bad. There hasn't been any pushing and you've been able to have your personal space :D
busywastinglife

not really

it seemed fine to me at the two shows i went to (atlanta and birmingham) but i was front row for birmingham so i wasnt aware of what was going on behind me lol

the only thing that annoyed the hell out of me was this 13 year girl who screamed her lungs out (she was on the far far left front row) while her mom just stood there and let her go crazy over men twice her age lol

Re: Umm... yeah

{q a=[[IHeartRooney]]}From what i'm told... my most recent show was a rarity. It was awful. Not just pushing but "charging." There was no such thing as personal space.

Thank God.
{/q}

At first I was picturing a Red Rover line pushing their way up to the front and that just blew my mind. Then I really thought about it and realized that they were doing the typical crowd hand holding.
Here is the thing, I hate it when people push their way to the front. The people who are in the front are the people who got their first and more than likely made the POINT of getting their early. Granted, Rooney fans aren't as bad as they used to be. You used to have to get there like 5 hours before the show to get front row. Now if you get there 30 minutes before doors you are fine.
Here is what leaves me confused though. At some shows, my best friend and I will show up after doors but before the opening act and there will be HOLES up front or in the first few rows. We go up there and stand there. I have no idea if I am stealing spots or not but no one is there. Heck, we showed up and hung out at the bar for an hour and a half until Rooney got onstage. We were still able to go all the way up to waaaaaay stage right and just had a good time.

But I am always afraid that when I leave to go to the bathroom, people won't believe I really am up front and I will lose my spot. I'm lucky though because we are usually by Taylor on the extreme edge so I just go through the side of the crowd.

Umm... yeah

From what i'm told... my most recent show was a rarity.

Thank God.

Re: If you've been to a show...

{q a=[[randomhero2006]]}Has there been any pushing going on? Or do you have your own personal space?

I was just curious because my show is Thursday and I know every show is different as far as the crowds go.

Thanks!{/q}

i was surprised because this time around i didnt have any annoying tweens to deal with, there was only one incident and that was when there was a tug-of war over the rooney flag, but i doubt that'll happen again. all-in-all good show experience this time
