I found this little mention on some website about a show they're doing at Toad's Place. The end kind of threw me. Rooney is a young band from Los Angeles with an almost scholarly obsession with '80s rock. Their sound is a blend of every great pop band you heard during that decade (Tom Petty, Billy Joel, The Cars, etc.). Lead singer Robert Schwartzman is the brother of Jason Schwartzman, better known as Max Fischer from the movie Rushmore. Except Robert looks more like Liam Gallagher from Oasis than our friend Fischer. With The Rewinds. 8 p.m. $13. Personally, I don't quite see the resemblence. Is it just me, or does this kid look like a totally different person from a couple of years ago? Maybe he looks so different from his role in the Princess Diaries because he's grown up and his face has changed? I can't figure out what looks so different about him between then and now. Thoughts?
