Baby names

What are some good unisex names that aren't the most popular names in the world, but also aren't crazy weird?

I find out the sex of the baby in a couple of weeks, but I'm one of those people that likes to have lists of names before I even know the sex... although I already know what the name's going to be if it's a boy.

Tell me names you guys like! :) if nothing else than for fun...and because I'm procastinating again.

Re: Okay...

I rarely ever reveal my secret stash of baby names... simply because i'm scared of them becoming big because one of them already is and i've had it in my head for about five years.

My husband and I have a few names for a girl....

Ava Reese (reason being... when we first started dating, one of our things we always talked about was Reese Witherspoon...we watched her movies and always thought her daughter was the cutest thing) Her daughters name is Ava and Reese is our common actress that we both love. Now, Ava is at the top of the baby list names... grrr.... it went under the radar for so long.

Milena - I became really close with an exchange student from Poland when I was a sophomore in high school. She was the kind of person that I always wanted to be like. Her personality has always been so sunny and she's probably the most interesting person i've ever met in my life. I miss her terribly. She lives in the UK now and goes to college. I haven't seen her since she left the US quite a few years ago. We all called her "Mel" for short.

Boys names - Dyzek Charles (Dyzek is Polish and we're Polish and Charles because my dad's name was Charles. Or Dyzek Howard (my dad's middle name).

Phuc U Ho??? Are you serious???
My grandma used to work at a doctors office before she retired and she was telling me the other day about a German client named Iona Schitt.
(Pronounced "shit" of course.)

My Uncle Dick's last name was Shaver. That's right, Dick Shaver. His two sons are Richard Jr (but he prefers to be called Ricky) and Peter so it's almost as bad for them.

And finally, my favorite, a woman heard the word meconium used in the delivery room and thought it was pretty so she named her daughter Meconium. For those who don't know what that is, it's the first shit a baby takes after it is born and it's gross and tar-like.

That's weird...my aunt is a nurse and she said that she had a patient named Meconium...She said they thought it was the most beautiful name ever!! What a pity the kid's named after gooey turd.
She also said that another patient named her kid "Labia". I feel SOOOO sorry for that poor kid.

you have got to be kidding! Labia?!
Honestly, Ive liked some weird names, but um... people are crazy.

I also heard of a girl named Female, but it was pronounced like tamale with an F. Labia is definitely worse though. I feel bad when she's at that age in school where they get to watch "the video". Things will just go from bad to worse for that poor girl.

Awww, no wonder she was suicidal. She had a freaky ass name.
Listen up people, this is what happens when your kids get stuck with stupid names like many of the names suggested here. Whatever happened to normal names like Sarah or Jane?

l don't know where they're going, but I miss them....I actually met a couple juvenile delinquents that were sisters, and their names were "Queen" and "Princess".

Princess and Queen. The mother should be shot.
I hate how everyone tries to be original now. It just ends up sounding like the parents are trying really hard to be different.
And not to contradict what I said earlier, but I'm also getting really tired of the common names like "Madison" (Which I probably hear about 20 times a day, if not more). I also am beginning to notice that the name "Ella" is starting to get popular, which is annoying to me, because that's my name. I guess it's fine if other people are named that, but come on. If the name isn't completely made-up, it has to be something every other little brat is named.

A couple of my best friend's are pregnant and they're having a girl. (They're a married couple not two individuals who are both having girls.) Their last name sucks and is really hard to name a kid with. They decided on Leah for the first name but can't pick out a middle name. They don't want a common one like Elizabeth, Lynn, Anne, and Ashley. All of the other ones I've suggested have been the "bad experience" names.

I understand the stress though. I think naming your child has to be one of the most important decisions of your life that won't be life or death. I sound overdramatic.

That being said. I thought of some more unisex names I like, Quen or (Quinn) and Blake.

My dad's name is Brice and there are actually a few girls I know named Brice. My sister has an asexual name though it isn't as much anymore, Lindsay. My name, Morgan, is also pretty asexual.

thanks! i always crack up when i look at these websites cos they have some of the weirdest unisex names. but they have some good ones, too :)

I just took a look on that site and saw the name Avery and thought "hm I kind of like that name" Then saw it means "Elf ruler!" I don't think I could name my child knowing the meaning was something crazy ridiculous like that!

These ones aren't unisex, but if you want to choose an original name, i can offer some nice ones.
Girl- Upe , Liepa, Smila. They are Lithuanian, but they sound really very lovely + believe me, you would be a truly original mum :)
Boy- ok, not Lithuanian ones which i prefer: Franz and Alex. Don't ask me why.

I love the name Alex (but I like it spelled the Croatian way--Aleksandar). Those are pretty names. I've been looking at Croatian baby names, which isn't the same as Lithuanaian, but they definitely aren't as common as other names here! And I think they're beautiful.

Brooke is a great name for a girl... I'm a little biased though lol.

I've always loved the name Landon for a boy or Leighton (I had an uncle Leighton). I actually kind of like Leighton for a girl too, like Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl.

I also like some of the other ones mentioned like Hayden, Peyton, and Riley.

And I've always loved the names Chloe, Blair, and Hope (my best friend's name).

Whatever you do PLEASE don't have all your children's names start with the same letter. Going to my friend Brittany's house is ridiculous. Everyone's names start with the letter B. Her mom is Beth, her dad is Bill, her siblings are: Baxter, Brian, Brooke, Blair, and Brody.

I love the names Landon + Blair.
I kinda like nature names like Summer, Willow, River (or Rio) + Orion.
I quite like the names August, London + James as middle names.
I'm definitely not into names which are very common like Samantha (my name), Sarah, David, John, Brian etc.

I don't mind the idea of siblings having the same initials, but my cousin went a bit OTT, not only do her two sons have the same initals; RBB, they also have the same middle name, which is their dad's first name. He has a massive ego! =]

A friend of mine from high school named her kid Jackoniah or something like that. I forget what, but she said it was Biblical.

There used to be a girl that posted on the boards named Evan. It's so not unisex though. It's my little brother's name.

Jackoniah's not really appealing. I think another reason why I like Hezekiah so much is also because of the way Tony Curtis says the name in The Great Race. Neither is Evan for a girl. Now to think of it, it reminds me too much of Evan Rachael Wood.

that's your niece in the pic right? she's too cute! i remember at the glasshouse your sis was still preggers. congrats and well wishes to your family!
