Jill and Graham

How was your show?

Mine was good and bad. Good in the sense that all in all the bands were great but the people there sucked and it took the venue 10 minutes to find my tickets. We waited in line for about an hour and a half before the let us in and wouldn't let me get my tickets at will call early. In the end, all of the young girlies with their Jonas Brothers backpacks ended up in the front and we were behind them. I had a not so good time honestly. Rooney was fantastic and the opening bands were pretty good. The whole experience was something that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy though.

Hope your show was much better.

Re: blah blah blah

to be honest with you, i think you all were just looking for a fucking reason to complain. st. andrews is one of the best venues in detroit, and all of the people who work there are always more then accomadating and nice to me. sorry about what happened to your tickets but really did it suck that much having to wait in line? I mean weren't you going to have to anyways? also you could have just gone over to a bar or something and waited. ALSO who gives two shits if there were jonas fans there? obviously they like rooney because obviously there were no jonas brothers there. Get the fuck over it. it was a great show and maybe if people didn't stand like bumps on a log, you wouldn't get bumped into all the time. concerts should be about having fun and dancing around and acting crazy not acting like youre way too cool to fucking move

Re: detroit

I agree- definitely too many jonas fans. But once Rooney came on I was able to ignore them and just have fun. The setlist was amazing, plus they played "Get Away"!

Re: gahhh! freaking Jonas fans!!!

That sucks, I'm sorry you had such a terrible time. I've never had a problem with will-call, but that's probably because I had ordered the tickets as will-call to begin with, and I remember you had said you had to have yours changed to that because they hadn't arrived by the time you left for Disney.

I'm also concerned about the Jonas fans. The Irving Plaza tickets say 16+ on them, but a good deal of JBFans are in the 16-18 age group. Fortunately they are a little less annoying than the 13 yr-olds. The Stone Pony show will be fun because I have my friend Sasha who can be an obnoxious Puert Rican when she needs to be and will tell Jonas fans off if they try to pull any of that shit around us.

Now this has me slightly worried lol. Rooney's coming here in late June, which is probably a really dumb scheduling move. I could be totally wrong, but I think they're going to get a very different crowd because all the UNC students will have left for the summer. I'm just hoping that there won't be too many Jonas Brothers t-shirt wearing girls there.... I might lose it (note to Katie: don't let me lose it!).

And I hate all the pushing and shoving at concerts. I understand that everyone wants to get up close to the band, but I managed to get a spot in the front row and there's no way in hell I'm going to let someone take it.

And speaking of rude people at concerts at a Gavin DeGraw concert back during my freshmen year a woman wore a giant sombrero. I couldn't see a damn thing because she was standing right in front of me. Who the hell wears a sombrero to a concert?

Re: bars

They need to start performing only in bars to 21+ crowds and only in small towns, ha!

no really, sorry the show was not a great experience for you. The Omaha show was pretty good in the sense that it was really small and there weren't many people there. That definitely helped.

You can come to their Des Moines concert when they ever get here, because right now it doesn't exist :(

I really hate the thought of having to go back to Sturgis and tell my mom about the show. She's always wanted to see Rooney (she's 60 fyi) and thought a show would be fun. As of now... I have to tell her to stay away.
Why you and your husband was disappointed in the way the show turned out to be ? What it missed or what it was disappointing ? It was cause the crowd that you was disappointed ?

I don't want anyone to think that Rooney or the opening bands were bad in any way. They were great!!

It was the crowd and the management of the venue that sucked. I tried to get my tickets early from will call but the guy was kind of an ass when he told me that I had to wait in the line outside and get them along with everyone else. He was later the guy that was apologizing profusely for not having my tickets ready. At one point, guys actually RAN through the crowd to get up to the front. It also smelled of pot for about 15 minutes. I had girls bitch at me for not letting them through. I'm sorry but why should I let someone way taller than me in front of me that got there late to begin with?
I went in seven months in five Rooney concerts and it was always stressful. To drive 400 Km and more back and forth on the highway , to be caught up in the traffic jam and then to arrive in a quite big town and to must find the concerts place and then to arrive to late to the show and don't have a good place or to must shift your working day ,or to stay in a big crowd of really young people most of all girls all this is stresful , but fortunately i am accustomed to be with young people because i give every day guitar lesson ,so is for me not so bad to stay with those in a concert. But is really difficolt to enjoy the music if you are tired and in the back of your head you already think at the return journey and make you worry yourself because you are tired ..

That is beyond me.

I've never understood the pushing and shoving business.

I always think "You know you can probably hear the band just as good back there if not better."

I'm a germ-a-phobe so when I go shows I either have to be at barricade or all the way in the back because otherwise I feel like I'm gonna be sick with all the sweaty (possibly) dirty (and sometimes smelly)bodies,

Ew I cringe at even the thought.

god that's fucking ridiculous.
I'm going to the show in Seattle and now I'm not as excited to go. We also have "will-call" tickets....I've never had to deal with "will call" tickets and to say the least, I'm really worried. I don't want to fight though the crowd to get a good spot. I'm really sorry you had a shitty time. It really pisses me off that it's not even going to be possible to enjoy the concerts without having some Jo-bro fans elbow sticking in your side while she's trying to hump Robert.

Re: sorry about your show

That's too bad you didn't enjoy your show. The one in Boulder was great. There was a wide range of ages. I guess I didn't feel the need to get up super close to the stage so where I was didn't have anyone under 21. It is hard to really enjoy yourself when things suck before you get in door. That's really too bad your night was so crappy.

Oh fuck...it was that bad?
I'm thoroughly convinced at this point that the Jonas Brothers should all be shot. And their little fans.

Re: .

Maybe you'll eventually get lucky and your shows will have an age requirement. Both of the shows I went to had age limits thankfully, 18+. One venue was pretty full with it, the other not so much.
It helped for me to be drunk I had a brilliant time dancing and letting loose after I got a couple of drinks in me.

i know im not jill or graham - but im really sorry that you had a crummy time. the first concert i went to was easy as pie to get into and now im dreding the concert because of all of the little jb fans. hmm.

Its tough because I don't want to be hostile about it. I just want to let it slide off my back. But, the fact that it's really affecting my personal concert experience as well as my friends and husband that went with me... it's just not cool! I really don't see things changing in the near future. Which sucks.
