Woot To College Graduates

So today I graduated from College! Man was that ceremony long and boring but the rents loved every minute of it.

CHEERS to all of you who are graduating from higher ed this month :)

What plans do you guys have?

I'm going into teaching/coaching/mentoring and this summer I'm going to be a summer camp counselor should be fun and give me a lot of experience with kids.

Did anyone get any cool grad gifts?

My mom is going to put forth the money for a down payment for a car. I'm pretty excited about it, I'm currently driving an '84 El Camino. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I get lots of compliments but I need something more economical, word.

woot to being an adult!

Re: Almost there!!

Graduation in 3 days! I bought my dress for graduation today and found these incredible shoes that I can't wear because they are spike heels and will sink into the turf on our football field.
Graduation gift #1: New Kids on the Block Reunion tickets from my godmother! I can't wait to bust out some bangle bracelets and side ponytails!

Re: :(

so its sinking in that school is over and that i have to find a job and apply to grad school, my roommate just moved out and im still here because senior week starts tomorrow, i moved most of my stuff back home. it so sad, i can't imagine not having to go to class for a year or doing late night cram sessions for an exam the next day. as relieved as i am that im finally out of this hell hole, i know im going to miss it. :(

Re: Hyundai's are good cars.

Compact, cute, get good gas mileage and they're fairly inexpensive. With $800 down payment I'm paying $250 a month.

congrats to you, too! i graduated friday. the ceremony was super long and i kept hearing my daughter cheer and scream, which was pretty hilarious.

i'm going to become a substitute come January... I'm pregnant again, and don't see the point in getting committed to a career when I want to go to grad school within the next two years. Maybe I have the wrong attitude though. ;)

Sounds like you have a good plan ahead of you though!

Grad gift--I went to Europe with my mom over winter break (Munich, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava), and got 600 dollars which i might put away for a road trip... well, Texas actually! (Austin to be exact).

What kind of car are you going to get?

I have a small budget so I'm looking at 08 Satiurn Ion, 08 Nissan Sentra, and an 08 Toyota Yaris

I want to travel Europe and the Middle East but it's going to have to wait a few years for me to save up enough money

get the yaris the yaris is cute, so my parents pretty much let me pick out what i want as a grad gift, im getting jewelry...my parents wont let me buy anymore handbags or shoes lol

I really really really want a Yaris hahaha, that's my first choice they are so cute! My friend has one and I've ridden in it a few times and I just love the way it feels and what not. We'll see though.

I need more shoes I never have the right pair when I'm going out.

I'm not getting a new car for probably another year or 2. I told my parents that's something I want to do myself. I really love the look of the new civics, but I haven't really looked into anything yet because it's a little far off for me still. I have no idea what I'm getting for my graduation present, but honestly, I would be grateful for anything. I know that they are going all out throwing me a graduation cocktail party because I am the first person in my family to graduate college in 4 years and I maintained a scholarship all 4 years. Not sure what else is going on besides that.

I'm doing the car myself, it will be in my name and I'll be making the payments and doing the insurance and stuff it's just my mom is going to do the down payment for me as a grad gift.

I'm the first in my immediate family to graduate college at all, and in my extended family I'm like the 3rd or 4th to do it. Pretty big deal, glad it's over.

I just got my grades back and I did exactly what I set out to do I graduated with a 4.0 my senior year and a 3.0 overall. Pretty big deal for me considering I completely effed up my freshman year.
