katy perry

thoughts on her?

i rather like her voice and her songs are generally really catchy - not to mention amusing.

i heard "ur so gay" a few months back, but have come to realize that this song pretty much sums up every indie art boy i've dated. i just wish it would be put in karaoke bars here.

I'm on her label's street team and they sent me a bunch of Katy Perry stuff (stickers, posters, etc) and it made me pretty mad because I didn't ask for it and I don't have time to pass it out.

has anyone heard of duffy? i can't get the song Mercy out of my head, it's so good, people who like katy perry would like it

I LOVE Duffy...well not love since she's new to the scene but I really like her...but still I do not like Katy Perry..I also hate the way her name is spelled...not that that has anything to do with her music..it just bothers me.

I've only heard one of each of their songs, but I like Duffy a lot better than Katy Perry. I also can't seem to get Mercy out of my head, but usually switch the station if I Kissed a Girl comes on the radio.

haha, well if neither of you have the album, you should go get it, it's very 60s girl group type things. she has some celine dionish moments, you might know what I mean if you listen to some of the slower tracks

Just looked her up, cos I hadn't heard her before. I think her songs are pretty catchy, but the "ur so gay" song uses the word gay semi-derogatively, which bugs me a little. I know that she might mean it as in homosexual, but she does kind of support the idea that straight men shouldn't like anything other than what they're expected to as masculine guys. Eh, anyway, the tunes are good! They'll probably be stuck in my head for a while!

to be honest I kind of really dislike her voice. I feel like she;s trying to make a scene by being outrageous and obnoxious. I think that's just me though. I'm more for a little modesty and understated everything. But ya know if that's what she's going for and that's what's going to get her notice then she can do whatever she wants.
