Live from the NY show...

Bree has been so kind as to text me a few photos and comments on how the show went tonight in NY (6/15).

She said it was great! The encore was Helter Skelter.... yeah, I about fell over from joy. She grabbed Robert's hair "just right." AND, she loved Locksley and The Bridges.

check limewire too, because there is stuff on there that miranda didnt post onto the page

yeah i've checked there. that's where i got a live version of "abc's of love" & a few others that aren't on their 2 cds. i still take a peak every now & then in case anything new shows up....

Would you be willing to share ABCs of love? Its one of the few songs that I don't have and I can never find it on limewire.

yeah i definitely would, but i'm not too sure how to go about it. i have it in my iTunes, but would i be able to e-mail it to you? i didn't get it off any website, i guess i just lucked out on limewire....

Re: surprised

I went to the show at Irving Plaza on sunday and I have to say I was really disappointed. I don't know if I've just been to really exceptional shows in the past or something, but I just wasn't feeling this one. I thought The Bridges and Locksley were phenomenal, which could've maybe raised my expections for Rooney.. I don't know, I've been to quite a few shows and I just felt like they were off the other night. I mean, I thought Helter Skelter was their best performance and it's not even their own song. What gives!? Anyone else feel that way?

The music was still great and I really thought Helter Skelter was the best song of the night.

I felt like that when they first came on, but as the show went on he was starting to get his usual stage presence back. I chalked it up to the fact that they just got back on tour, but I was definitely not disappointed with the show by any means.

does anyone know who started the condom balloons? personally i thought it was really rude to be tossing them around while they were playing....but that's just me

There are always condom balloons at the Irving Plaza shows because they give them out on your way in. I didn't think the balloons themselves were rude (actually, i love `em-- i think they're hysterical), I thought the fact that people were purposely trying to hit robert and matt with them waws rude.

You know I think it's kinda funny watching bands you don't like get hit in the head with stuff on YouTube.

However if it's a band I really like I get kinda mad. But I suppose it's the same thing. They're just up there trying to do their thing, no reason to throw things at them. (unless they deserve it of course)

Back to the topic: This makes me excited for my show. Except for the mention of the wannabe "rockers". Not sure what it means but it worries me some.

:/

i think you'll enjoy the show though. i'm actually from NJ but north so i didn't feel like driving down there. it only took me 1/2 hour to get into the city.

as for wannabe rockers. they are easy to spot. very young usually dress skanky or just plain inappropriate for a long concert where you stand the whole time. they basically only know the chorus of a few songs & they stand around trying to fake the rest of the song or bob their head. it's inevitable though no matter what band, especially since they just opened for the JoBros. while we were waiting for the show to start they played music & actually played Oasis' "Wonderwall". some had this face like what is this music & others could barely mumble chorus. meanwhile the real rock fans were actually talking about what other songs they like & i remember reminiscing about seeing the "Champagne Supernova" video back in the 90's. when i mentioned that song they looked at me like i had 2 heads....

sorry! i often rant about people who are fake & pose as something else because they think it will make them look "cool"

was it just me, or did it bother you that about 90% of the audience didn't know even the chorus to get away?

It did bother me that people were aiming the balloons at the band, and not only Matt looked aggrevated, but so did Robert. They shrugged it off pretty well.

I didn't even notice any pick throwing, however I was baptized the the waterbottle of Schwartzman. Did any of you see me with my sweet (misspelled) headband??

i know they shrugged it off, but i just think there should be a certain level of respect for people giving you an awesome performance at such a low price too. i thought they would sell their tickets for more....

robert also baptized me. lol. i was in front of him & about 5 people deep. i don't know though. i kept getting shoved back & forth every other song.

Re: balloons

i didn't mean to say that i hated the balloons, but the fact that the bimbos in front were pretty much aiming for their head & hands (while playing guitar) was rude. i've been to shows where they toss around balloons, but never interfered with the performance. i know matt never smiles, but he looked aggravated that they were all trying to give a great performance & they were pretty much disrespecting them.

i know i can barely play the guitar. i can't sing & play at the same time so i can't even imagine trying to do both while having condoms being thrown at you....

i loved the show though. i wasn't the biggest fan of the bridges, but i've never been into female harmony because no mater what it is it makes we think of the dixie chicks (which i can't stand). they weren't bad, just not my cup of tea. i loved locksley though. i got the last guitar pick thrown from them so i was excited.

i couldn't get one from rooney though. taylor threw his far back & i don't recall seeing robert thrown anything except for the water bottle....

6/15 concert - absolutley amazing! locksley blew me away completely & even the bridges were pretty good. meeting robert was the highlight of the concert lol, he was so nice and him & my dad were talking and supposedly my dad might have known his dad [?!] haha. but i felt so bad for him since it was fathers day and his dad passed away... overall, the concert was amazing. yeah, those girls who were posing as rooney fans infront of me were annoying like bobbing their head and like fixing there training bra straps while dancing and singing, but other than that, it was one of the most amazing concerts of my life! * helter skelter ended it greatly!

Re: I'm back!!!

Yeah, I was right at the stage (started out kinda far and ended up right in front) and during Helter Skelter he was like down on the floor playing. I was within reach and girls had their hands all over him so i just playfully tugged his hair cos it was about all i could reach haha!

Bridges were really good- I talked to Brittany briefly afterwards and she's VERY Sweet! She said to tell Erin &Stacey "Hi!"

Locksley was INCREDIBLE! I am a full-on fan now. They completely blew me away. That's really all I can say about it haha

Rooney Set List (which I took and got autographed) :
Don't Come Around Again
Blueside
Calling the World
Are You Afraid
Stay Away
All in Your Head
Terrible Person
Believe in Me
The Weight
Get Away
What Fod
Paralyzed
ISHBAY
Love Me or Leave Me
Shakin
WDYHGM
Encore: If If Were Up to Me & Helter Skelter

Totally rocked my Rooney Connection Headband (pics to come) Spoke to Ned, Louie, & Robert about TRC a little. Ned hadn't heard about it so he's going to look into it. Louie thought it was really cool and was like "Anything to help! That's cool that you guys are kinda doin it on your own."

And the hightlight of my night:
As I got to Robert in the M&G line, he signed my setlist and smiled then went "Oh my god, its you! Hey!" and jumped up and hugged me. Then asked me how everything was with a bit a of chit chat, but I had to go because I was holding up the line. Hooray for him knowing who I am now!!!

Now I'm off to bed so I can wake up for work @ 7 tomorrow morning. More to come when I am more conscious.
