At present, Taylor is trying his hand at "rock'n'roll," but for those who watched this boy's career as I have--it is impossible not to look at that bone structure and think, "What if?"

Yes to Of Montreal, Phantom Planet, ELO, The Zombies, Coconut Records, and especially Hymns! And also not much Rooney.

I have been spending too much time and money on music lately, if there is such a thing. I can't list everything I've been listening to, but I love using last.fm which tracks the music I listen to and recommends similar artists. Anyone else have a last.fm account?

I don't use last.fm, but i am all about pandora.com. You put in an artist or song that you like and based on musical properties, plays music or artists with similar qualities. You can give it a thumbs up if you like it and it will find other artists and stuff, or a thumbs down and they will never play the song again.

That sucks, I just tried to use Pandora.com and it said that it can't be accessed outside the US :( anyone know of any alternative sites that might work for me?

my music library desperately needs updating. works been kicking my butt, and i really don't have the time i used to.

really, the only new stuff i've put in rotation are: sex on fire by kol and any leaked tracks from the killers that i can get my hands on. "neon tiger" and "spacemen" are tons better than "'human". also, his orchestra (http://www.myspace.com/hisorchestramusic).

Re: I feel like I never listen to anything new anymore...

I just saw Cold War Kids at Street Scene this past weekend and they were pretty good. Their singer kinda looks like mini Josh Homme. I guess one of my English teachers (well, she's not currently my teacher, but has been in the past and probably will be next semester) is obsessed with them right now, so that's always encouraging.

Recently listened to:
Armor For Sleep
Past Lives (ex-Blood Brothers members. really good and more post punk and moody than Blood Brothers. http://www.myspace.com/pastlivesmusic)
A Static Lullaby
Santogold
Crocodiles (ex-The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower members. http://www.myspace.com/crocodilescrocodilescrocodiles)
The Velvet Teen
