Re: Top 9Amy Lillian - What song did you sing for your audition? Was it shown on TV? My guess is "no", as you are probably too good to be shown as a bad singer, but were not selected to go through. Either way, good for you for trying.
Here are my thoughts....in no particular order:
David Archuleta - I can no longer stand him. He is so one note and I think his humility is sort of fake. Perhaps Melinda Doolittle gave him a personal call and coaching session?
KLC - I don't mind her. I know everyone else seems to want her to go home, but I think she would probably do fine in a Carrie Underwood (Country/Cross over pop) market. Mind you, I would never buy anything she did, probably, but I just don't find her offensive.
David Cook - I generally enjoy his performances and have come around on him a bit, but I'm not drinking the DC Kool-Aid quite yet. Btw, his hair is much improved, but I'm still shuttering over those baby photos...huge dome! I feel for his mother.
Carly - I actually think her hair and make-up are getting better. My husband has always says he thinks she's sexy, and I just don't see it...but I'm starting to think she's looking better. I thought "Here You Come Again" is such a classic song and she did well, but she probably should have chosen Brooke's song, Jolene.
Brooke - I admit it, I was so hoping for Jack White to join her on stage half way through....tell me that wouldn't have been the single best moment in AI history. I love almost everything she does, but I thought last night's performance was a little too up-tempo and almost bordered on "happy". That song is NOT happy...she should have been a little more dour.
Michael Johns - Best performance of the night...by a mile.
Sayesha - Better than I thought it would go. Although, hello - could she have chosen a more predictible song? She should have made her second half similar to the first (i.e., just done Dolly's version all the way through).
Jason - I thought the song choice was natural and perfect for him. I didn't think it was super memorable, but it was enough to keep hiim around.
Ramiele - She sang "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind". Well, she really doesn't...she has a good voice, but I just never really enjoy her performances. My vote is for her to go home tonight.
