Chicago Rooney Concert

Hello Rooney fans!! I just discovered this forum, how cool it'll be to meet other Rooney fans, I'm still trying to force them on my friends! :)

Anyone going to the Chicago HOB Rooney show on May 5th? I'll be there!

the crowd, however...maybe they can play and 18 and over show next time? jonas brothers fans irritate me. clearly some of them have never been to standing room only shows and between bands one girl up at front started screaming at the crowd behind her, "oh my gosh! you guys need to fucking move back! i'm so hot! it's too crowded!"...

at least the music was awesome.

it does get really crowded at rooney shows when you stand in the front, i've been to other shows where its not as bad.

At the Chicago show, was Louie and Ned elevated? Or did Louie stand up and play?

At the Detroit show I was sort of bummed because Ned wasn't elevated and I could barely see him behind Robert. Also, Louie wasn't elevated at all and he was tuckd behind Robert and Taylor and you could only see him when he had a solo and Taylor moved out of the way.

i couldn't really see ned at all at the omaha show...which sucked because i always like watching the drummer.

Re: Just throwing this out there

Maybe it depends on the venue? I've seen them where they were both elevated and not. I can't remember any patterns though, mainly because I never thought about it until now. :-)

Re: Louie & Ned

Louie & Ned we're both elevated. You'd think they'd have them elevated at all shows! You can out video clips I posted of the concert on my youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/xKEM23x

I'm new here first off. Second, Rooney was fantastic on Monday. I have to say, one of the best live shows I've seen in a long time. The crowd however was really lame, I was squished in between a bunch of 12 year old or younger girls. I was kinda frustrated. Usually I'm at concerts with people my age or older. Anyways, rooney was still amazing, can't wait to see them again.

definitely agree that the crowd was lame.

Re: totally blown away!

the show was amazing!!!! It was my first Rooney concert and I was completely blown away. I was so happy I wasn't on the floor, I had center seats in the balcony and if you're 21+ you could have gone to the balcony as well to get away from the Jonas Bros Fans, keep that in mind for next time, so worth it!

I really liked The Bridges, I've been listening to their EP all morning, and Locksley was really fun.

The meet 'n greet however was such a pain, the tour manager was mean and barking orders, it felt way too rushed, I guess I understand though, they need to keep it moving so they can meet everyone and get out at a reasonable hour!

At least I got to thank Robert for singing movin' out, that was totally me who kept requesting it haha, he said his bandmates gave him a hard time about adding it to the set list but he said he was happy to do it! he was really sweet, everyone else seemed pretty tired...

Re: 2 more days!

so excited for the show! Rooney's myspace page says the concert starts at 8pm but the HOB website says 6:15, doors 5:30 so....I guess I'll be there at 5:30 and if I'm 3 hours early, well I'll just drink lol jk, but I really hope the room isn't packed with jonas brothers teenies

and congrats on being pregnant, are you going to raise Rooney's 2nd biggest fan now? :)

Re: Cinco de Mayo could = muy annoyo

I'm looking forward to the show, but it's on Cinco de Mayo...hmm - hopefully the crowd will be decent and not full of amateurs who've had too many margaritas. Then again, if Rooney is off or the openers suck, it might add to the (unintentional) entertainment factor.

Hope everyone has fun at the show...I'll be the middle aged (not really), somewhat pregnant (really) lady who may or may not have an annoyed look on her face. :)

I'll be interested to know how big a crowd they draw. The HOB is bigger than the Vic and there wasn't a huge crowd last Fall when Rooney opened for TPS.

I've seen your videos on YouTube, your son is so cute!!

My friend said the show will be packed, but she could have just been assuming that. It would be nice actually if it's a more intimate show and we're not all shoved up against each other. I'm so excited anyway. And...wow it be cool to have a drink with them at the bar! Do they really usually do that? I'm definitely sticking around now! ;)

Thanks. I am biased, but he's a pretty cool and funny little dude.

Re: the band hanging out at the HOB. I'm not sure how that would work. When I've been to shows in the past, they kind of clear out the place. I believe there is another bar (downstairs - near the restaurant?) and there is also the private club upstairs (where you see the opera boxes)...so, I'm not sure how that will work out. I guess we'll see.

yea the Foundation Room (private upstairs club) is open before, during, and after the show. I sent Rooney a myspace message telling them to come visit me in the Foundation Room before the show, we'll see if they do (I doubt it but it was worth a shot!)

But yea the downstairs restaurant should be open until at least 10 or 11. So either that or maybe Crimson Lounge right next door at the Hotel Sax, they apparently have musicians in every night after the shows. It's such a cool bar!! If anyone wants to meet up after the show we should setup a "Rooney" table at Crimson. I know the Sales Manager there so I could arrange that if anyone is interested!

i'm sure they'll have one...or at least i hope :/

Even if they don't have an official "meet and greet," they'll usually hang around the venue for a while afterwards. Especially at a place like the HOB, they will probably go to the bar for a while.

yeah, its actually better when they dont have the meet and greet

I am definitely going with some friends. I swore to myself I was going to see a Rooney concert and just them alone. I'm not sure why, but that's how I feel about it.
