Re: Take it easy, peopleI personally wasn't offended by Meggo's post, but I guess people have to realize that it's easy for things to get out of hand quickly...that, and people tend to have more extreme reactions when they aren't face to face. Really, this is a message board and not reality.
That said, I was really happy with my position at the Chicago show. My friend and I - both well over 21 - were able to sit on bar stools along a railing that overlooked the pit/floor. So, not only were we above the fray, we were comfortable, close to the bar, and had perfect visibility. We also were just outside the entrance from the bar to backstage, so we saw a lot of to/fro from people with those special ID's...I'm sure some of them were girlfriends, as they looked malnourished and were super glammed up. Before the show Taylor walked by and I said "OMIGOD! TAYLOR!!!" Just kidding, I just said, "Hi, Taylor" and he turned around, waved and smiled and continued on back stage to "prepare" for the show, no doubt.
Anyway, I've thought MANY times about blogging about show etiquette...god knows I've had my share of nice and not-so-nice experiences. In the end, you gotta try to shut out the idiots that may surround you....they can't be all that bad, as they're at the same show, right?
